Backstory:
Aurora, just 25 years old, soon discovered that life wasn't exactly easy. The relationship with her parents failed at a young age when her mother and father separated and neither of them felt responsible for the girl. Because of the feeling of unimportance and uselessness, she repeatedly ended up with people whose goal was not exactly to enter into a healthy relationship. The latter showed Aurora that she urgently needed to get away from this life.
On one of the chaotic days of her big city life, she met a man who initially seemed charismatic and humorous - but then he turned out to be manipulative and violent. Aurora was only 19 at the time, but as the years went by, things got worse and worse. She always had hope that things would get better and that he would change, but that change never happened despite many promises.
After all the painful events, she gathered courage and seized the chance, she quickly packed only the bare essentials and fled to the airport to catch a flight. She didn't care where, as long as it was far away.
And so she ended up in a small town called Kingsmouth. It was completely different from her cluttered city in Germany, where she had spent almost her entire life. Everything was so quiet, much smaller and the people were completely different. Let alone the language.
She knew she had to keep busy - otherwise she wouldn't get very far.
Her skills were limited to self-taught tailoring and repairing things. She was well versed in fashion and sewing clothes was easy for her. She also found it easy to build and repair smaller objects and furniture. Aurora was on her own for most of her life, so you learn a thing or two. She could also fish, at least a bit. At the time when her relationship with her father was still good, he would take her with him every now and then and show her how it was done. She is quite rusty, but learns quickly.
All in all, Aurora tries to lead a quiet life, find her way and finally leave the past behind her. Only time will tell whether she can do it, because as we all know, time heals all wounds if you allow it.
